Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced an inquiry into the Pakistanis involved in the Pandora Papers.
1). In a statement issued on Twitter, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that he welcomes Pandora Papers, Pandora Papers exposes the illicit wealth of the elite, the wealth accumulated through tax evasion and corruption reaches financial 'shelters'.
2). Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the United Nations has estimated وری 7 trillion in stolen assets, which were largely transferred to offshore tax havens.
3). The Prime Minister said that his government would investigate all the citizens who appeared in the Pandora Papers and would take appropriate action if any wrongdoing was proved.
4). "The elites of the developing world are plundering wealth like the East India Company. I urge the international community to treat this serious injustice as a climate change crisis, if it is not done," he said. And inequality between poor states will increase.
He added that this would lead to an increase in poverty and a flood of migration from poor to rich states for employment, leading to further economic and social instability around the world.
5). The Pandora paper includes the names of more than 700 Pakistanis.
It should be noted that the Panama Papers released in 2016 included the names of 444 Pakistanis while the Pandora Papers included the names of more than 700 Pakistanis.
Prominent Pakistani personalities named in the Pandora Papers include Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen, Federal Minister Monis Elahi, Senator Faisal Wawda, former Punjab Minister Abdul Aleem Khan and son of PML-N leader Ishaq Dar.
6). In Pandora Papers, PPP's Sharjeel Memon, the family of Federal Minister for Industry Khusro Bakhtiar, the son of former Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Waqar Masood and the owner of the executive Shoaib Sheikh's offshore company have also come out.
7). The Pandora Papers also featured off-shore companies of some retired military officers, some bankers, businessmen and some media owners.
