The oldest resident of Radom lives in Osiedle Nad Potokiem. It is worth
adding that the oldest Polish citizen at present - currently living in the
Śląskie Voivodeship - is 115 years and 215 days old.
The second oldest man in
Poland is 111 years old. The next 7 places are occupied by women. The longevity
of women is also evidenced by another number - in the top thirty oldest
inhabitants of our country there are as many as 26.
According to the European
Organization for the Study of Centenarians, Jeanne Calment, a French citizen
who died in 1997 and lived 122 years and 164 days, is on the list of the oldest
people in history. The top ten "longevity" includes four citizens of
Japan, two of France, and one each of the United States, Canada, Jamaica and
Italy.
Currently,
22 people aged 100 and over live in Radom. The oldest resident is a woman, born
in 1915 - according to the data of the Registry Office in Radom.
