In the match of the seventh edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL), Islamabad United has given a target of 230 runs to Quetta Gladiators for victory.
Quetta Gladiators captain Sarfraz Ahmed has won the toss and invited Islamabad United to bat in the match being played at the National Stadium in Karachi.
United's openers started the innings aggressively and gave the team a brilliant start of 55 runs in four overs. James Faulkner gave his team its first victory by dismissing Hales who scored 22 runs off 9 balls.
From the other end, Paul Sterling continued his aggressive play and scored another half century. He was dismissed for 58 off 28 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 7 fours while Shadab Khan scored 9 runs.
After that Azam Khan came to support Colin Monroe and both the players batted well and laid the foundation of a big score.
The duo put up a 92-run partnership off 52 balls, which helped Islamabad United to a 229-run total for the loss of four wickets.
Azam was dismissed for 65 off 65 balls with six sixes and two fours, while Monroe made 72 off 39 balls with five sixes and three fours.
Earlier, Islamabad United have made two changes to the squad for the match and Waqas Maqsood has been included in the squad along with Colin Monroe.
On the other hand, three changes have been made in the Quetta Gladiators team and Shahid Afridi, James Owens and Abdul Bangalzai have become part of the final XI.
Both teams consist of these players for the match.
