Islamabad Police conducted an operation in Parliament Lodges in the presence of activists of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), bodyguard Ansar-ul-Islam, and arrested several persons.

 

The operation in Parliament Lodges was carried out under the command of DIG Operations. The media was expelled from the Parliament Lodges after which the police personnel broke the door of Salahuddin Ayubi, lodge and started making arrests.

 

 According to reports, police have transferred 10 persons to the police station secretariat. Among those arrested are JUI National Assembly member Salahuddin Ayubi, Jamaluddin and JUI Islamabad spokesperson Mufti Abdullah.

The police operation against Ansar-ul-Islam lasted for 30 minutes during which several leaders of Ansar-ul-Islam changed their clothes and left the lodges.

According to reports, after the police operation, more police personnel have been deployed in Parliament Lodges while the team conducting the operation left Parliament Lodges.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Akram Durrani also reached Parliament Lodges and talking on the occasion Maulana Fazlur Rehman directed his workers from all over the country to reach Islamabad and said that those workers who could not reach Islamabad should block roads in their respective areas. do.

 

 Talks between police and Salahuddin Ayubi

Earlier, police officers reached Parliament Lodges where they were holding talks with JUI-F National Assembly member Salahuddin Ayubi.

Salahuddin told the police that Ansar-ul-Islam workers are our guests, our guests have come according to law, the workers do not have weapons.

PTI MLAs Ali Muhammad Khan and Noor Alam were also present on the occasion.

 

Police said that we will take these workers to the police station, to which Salahuddin Ayubi said that my guest is in my room. You take me to the police station, not my guest.

Later, IG Islamabad Police Muhammad Ahsan Younis also took notice of the matter and suspended the block in-charge at D-Chowk, inspector in-charge of Parliament Lodges and line officer.

Why was Ansarul Islam summoned?

Sources said that the opposition leaders had expressed concern over the disappearance and security of their members, after which the opposition parties led by Maulana Fazlur Rehman had decided that Ansar-ul-Islam activists would provide security to all members of the opposition. ۔

It may be recalled that the opposition has filed a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan in the National Assembly Secretariat on which the Speaker now has to convene a meeting and vote.
