Prime Minister Imran Khan directed Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser to convene an assembly session on March 21.
According to sources, the Speaker National Assembly called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad in which the Prime Minister directed to convene the assembly session on March 21.
Sources said that the National Assembly session will be convened on March 21 in the Parliament House. In this regard, the renovation work of the Parliament House has been completed.
Sources in the Assembly Secretariat said that the Assembly Hall is ready for the March 21 meeting.
According to sources, Fateha will be offered for the late PTI MNA Khayal Zaman from Hangu in the March 21 meeting. On March 21, the National Assembly session will be adjourned till March 25. There will be a holiday.
Sources said that a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister will be tabled in the March 25 National Assembly session, the no-confidence motion will be debated on March 25, 26 and 27 and the no-confidence motion will be voted on in the March 28 session.
It may be recalled that on March 8, the opposition had filed a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan in the National Assembly Secretariat while at the same time requisitioning a meeting of the National Assembly under Article 54-3 of the Constitution.
Under the constitution, the speaker is required to convene a meeting of the National Assembly within 14 days after the opposition recused himself.
According to the rules, voting on a no-confidence motion cannot take place before 3 days and after 7 days after the resolution is tabled in the assembly.
