Wisden called Pakistan captain Babar Azam historic 196 runs in the last innings of the second Test of the series against Australia in Karachi the best performance of the century in the fourth innings.

A statement from Wisden said that Baburazam 10-hour innings in the fourth innings of the Test match was the third of the 10 best innings of the 21st century which saved the match for the team.

The report said that the captain of the Pakistani team played the best game at the crucial stage and shattered the dream of the Australian team to win.
Appreciating Babar Azam performance, it was said that the hosts were bowled out for 148 in the first innings, after which there was a lot of pressure on the big target of 506 runs in the second innings but they played the best innings.
In the second innings of the Karachi Test, when Babar Azam came to bat, the team's score was 21 for 2, but he shared a 228-run stand with Abdullah Shafiq for the second wicket.
Young batsman Abdullah Shafiq batted responsibly but failed to complete his century.
Babar Azam also got out near his first double century in his Test career and was dismissed for 196 runs, including 21 fours and a six.

This innings of Karachi Test is a long innings in his Test and it proved to be a memorable one for the Pakistani team, during which he also broke three big records.
