On the third day of the Lahore Test, Pakistan were bowled out for 268 in the first innings despite a good start by Azhar Ali and Abdullah Shafiq, giving Australia an overall lead of 134 runs.

On the third day of the third and final Test match of the series being played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, Pakistan resumed their first incomplete innings with 90 runs from one wicket.

Azhar Ali and Abdullah Shafiq continued their excellent batting for the third day in a row, depriving the Australian bowlers of wickets in the first session.

 Meanwhile, the players not only completed their half-centuries but also set up a 100-run partnership for the second wicket.



However, due to the slow batting of both the players, the Pakistan team is unable to score fast runs.

 

A few balls before the lunch break, Australia had a chance to take the wicket but Steve Smith, standing in the slip on the ball of Mitchell Swapson, dropped the catch of Azhar Ali.



When the lunch break came on the third day of the match, Pakistan had scored 159 for the loss of
one wicket. Abdullah Shafiq was playing at 75 and Azhar Ali at 63. Both the players shared 150 runs for the second wicket.

 

Abdullah Shafiq scored 81 runs and got out on the ball of Nathan Lyon, then Pakistan score was 170 runs.



Azhar Ali and Babar Azam added 44 runs but Azhar Ali scored 78 runs and became the wicket of Pat Cummins.



Fawad Alam failed once again in the series and scored 13 runs and got out on the score of 248. When Pakistan score reached 256 runs, Mohammad Rizwan lost his wicket on the ball of Mitchell Starc by scoring only one run.



The Australian captain also blew the wickets of Sajid Khan who scored 6 runs. In his next over, he dismissed Noman Ali and Hassan Ali without allowing them to open their accounts.


Mitchell Starc took the remaining wickets of Pakistan in one over and completed Pakistan's innings at 268 runs.



Babar Azam 67 and Naseem Shah returned to the pavilion at zero.

Pakistan lost the first innings by 123 runs.

Captain Cummins was Australia leading wicket-taker with five wickets.

Mitchell Starc took four wickets and Nathan Lyon one.

 

At the end of the third day play, Australia scored 11 runs without any loss and took an overall lead of 134 runs.



Usman Khawaja (7) and David Warner (4) are playing.

Australia were bowled out for 391 in the first innings.

The first two Test matches of the series between the two teams were drawn.

Both teams consist of these players for the match.
