The Gulf state of Kuwait has banned the screening of an Indian action horror film showing anti-Pakistan and anti-Muslim scenes.

According to the Indian newspaper The Indian Express, Kuwait has banned the upcoming mega-budget action Tamil film 'Best' starring Thalapathi Vijay Chandra Shekhar aka 'Vijay'.
The report quoted the film analyst tweet as saying that the Tamil film was banned by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information from showing anti-Pakistan and anti-Muslim scenes.

The film was to be released on April 13 in Gulf countries and other parts of the world, including India.
The film portrays Muslims as terrorists and some of the alleged terrorists also belong to Pakistan.
While Kuwait has banned the film 'Best' for continuously portraying Muslims in negative and terrorist roles in Tamil films, the Tamil Nadu Muslim political party has also demanded a ban on the film.

According to the Indian website The Cantt, the leader of the Tamil Nadu Muslim League party expressed outrage at the portrayal of Muslims as terrorists in Vijay film and demanded a statewide ban on its screening.

The political leader said that Muslims have been portrayed in extremist and terrorist roles in Tamil films for a long time while the caste of Muslims and their famous names have also been included in the films.
According to Mustafa, Tamil films are trying to give the impression that Muslims are extremists, which is why Muslims across the country, including Tamil Nadu, are suffering from fear and anxiety.
He demanded that the screening of Vijay film 'Best' be banned due to its anti-Muslim nature.
