President Dr. Arif Alvi dissolved the National Assembly on the proposal of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency, the President approved the proposal of the Prime Minister to dissolve the National Assembly under Articles 58 (1) and 48 (1) of the Constitution.
It may be recalled that the opposition had filed a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan on March 8, on which voting was expected today.
However, the sessions begin. Speaking during Question Hour, Law Minister Fawad Chaudhry raised serious objections to the resolution.

After which the Deputy Speaker dismissed the no-confidence motion as unconstitutional and adjourned the sitting indefinitely.
Immediately after the conclusion of the lower house session, the Prime Minister addressed the nation and announced that the proposal to dissolve the Assembly had been forwarded to the President.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that our Speaker has rejected the conspiracy to change the government. It was a foreign agenda and I would like to congratulate the entire nation on its rejection.
"People have been telling me since yesterday that they were worried about this conspiracy. I want to send a message to them that there is no need to worry. Allah is watching over this nation. This country came into being on the 27th of Ramadan. Conspiracy will not allow this nation to succeed.

The Prime Minister said that after the decision taken by the Speaker using his powers, he had sent a proposal to the President to dissolve the Assemblies. We should go to the people in a democratic manner and the people should decide who they want.
He said that no outsiders and such people should decide the fate of this country by spending money. ۔
He said that those who have taken money should earn some reward and spend it in the way of Allah.
I tell my people to prepare for elections, you have to decide the country, they will see what will happen after the dissolution of the assemblies.
He said, "I thank Allah that such a big failure has taken place abroad. An attempt was made to intimidate the government through this conspiracy."
Cabinet dissolved, PM retained
After the Prime Minister's address, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that the Prime Minister will continue his responsibilities under Article 224 of the Constitution. The Cabinet has been dissolved.
Information and Law Minister Fawad Chaudhry said in a tweet that "the Prime Minister has sent an advice to the President under Article 58 of the Constitution to dissolve the National Assembly."
Assembly has been dissolved, Minister of State Farrukh Habib
On the other hand, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib confirmed in a tweet that the Assembly has been dissolved.
Parliament has given the right to vote to Pakistanis abroad. Traitors cannot take back the right to vote from Pakistanis abroad.
In another tweet, he said that elections would be held in the next 90 days.
