The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson has congratulated Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on his election.

According to Radio Pakistan, the British Prime Minister said in his letter that there are strong ties between Britain and Pakistan with strong public relations.
Boris Johnson also mentioned in the letter that he met Shahbaz Sharif during his visit to Pakistan in 2016 and said that during the visit various issues of common interest including girls' education, health, economic and trade relations were discussed.

The British Prime Minister expressed his desire to continue working together, including on resolving global issues.
He wished good luck to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the people of Pakistan on the completion of 75 years of its existence and hoped to meet the Prime Minister soon.
It is to be noted that in his first speech after being elected Prime Minister in the National Assembly, Shahbaz Sharif while talking about Britain said that there are millions of Pakistanis living in Britain, Pakistan has historical relations with Britain. Given funds for education in the provinces, we want to further develop relations with the UK.
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had sent congratulatory messages to Shahbaz Sharif on his election as Prime Minister of Pakistan.
