The Sindh Chief Minister apprised the Prime Minister of his plan to purchase 2000 electric buses for the BRT project.

It was informed in the meeting that Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway was approved at a cost of Rs. 165.7 billion. The federal government wants to build this road on PPP mode.

Briefing about the gas situation, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that according to the constitution, the province from which the gas comes out has the first right of that province. The federal government wants to impose WACOG policy. Under G policy, the price of imported gas will be determined by pooling imported and local gas.

The Sindh Chief Minister said that the federal government had unilaterally amended the NEPRA Act. Due to this amendment, Sindh could not nominate its member on NEPRA. 12 hours of load shedding is taking place. SEPCO power demand is 777 MW but it gets 412 MW.
He said that SEPCO power shortfall is 365 MW, Hesco gets 652 MW as against its demand of 1050 MW, Hesco gets 398 MW less power, K Electric demand is 3213 MW but 2813 MW power supply. Yes, KE is facing a shortfall of 400 MW.
Talking about the issue of gas in the meeting, the Prime Minister said that we are making plans regarding the transfer of gas, the provinces will get the right to gas.
The Sindh Chief Minister also briefed Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC). The system was introduced which was done by the institutions themselves.
He said that it was decided in 2018 that entrance test for admission in government medical colleges would be conducted at provincial level. PMC established, PMC started conducting entry test MDCAT at national level.
He said that the PMC had not taken into consideration the fact that each province has its own syllabus. Governments have not been taken into confidence either. The PMC Act has proved to be extremely detrimental to small provinces. Under the PMC Act, local domicile students are denied admission in their respective provinces.
He said that the Sindh Cabinet had reduced the passing marks for MD CAT from 65% to 50% in 2021. The PMC refused to accept the decision of the Sindh Cabinet. There will be a shortage of doctors.
On the occasion, the Sindh Chief Minister requested the Prime Minister to direct the PMC to respect the decision of the Sindh Cabinet. The Sindh Chief Minister requested that the entrance tests of medical and dental colleges be conducted at the provincial level.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that Sindh government should make a proposal to take entrance test for admission in medical colleges. We say the same to other provinces. I will look into the issues of water, KCR myself, I will form a committee, all other issues will be resolved.
