Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry said in a statement on social networking site Twitter: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice (Retd) Gulzar Ahmed has been nominated for the post of caretaker Prime Minister.
Earlier, President Arif Alawi had written a letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif seeking a suitable name for the post of caretaker Prime Minister under Article 224A-1 of the Constitution.
The letter asked both the persons to nominate a suitable person for the post of caretaker Prime Minister under Article 224A (1) of the Constitution of Pakistan.
He had informed the two leaders that if the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition in the outgoing National Assembly did not agree to appoint a caretaker Prime Minister, then within three days of the dissolution of the National Assembly, they would nominate both nominees to the National Assembly. Will be immediately referred to the committee constituted by the Speaker.

The committee will consist of eight members from the outgoing National Assembly, or the Senate, or both, representing the government and the opposition, and will be represented by the Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition, respectively, under Article 224A (1) of the Constitution. Will be nominated.
On the other hand, PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif has said that he will not be a part of this process as it is illegal.
He said that the President and the Prime Minister have broken the law and the question is how they can contact the opposition.
It may be recalled that the no-confidence motion of the opposition against the Prime Minister was rejected by Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri yesterday.
In his address to the nation just minutes after the rolling of the Deputy Speaker, Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that he had sent advice to the President to dissolve the Assembly.
