Lahore Additional Deputy Commissioner Atiab Sultan has suggested to the leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) that there are 'security concerns' in the Lahore meeting so former Prime Minister Imran Khan should address the video link.

The notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner Lahore said, “In view of the serious threats received by the security agencies and the latest intelligence review conducted at the district and provincial level, it is suggested that former Prime Minister Imran. Khan should address Virtual and LED for video conferencing on April 21, 2022 instead of being present in Greater Iqbal Park Lahore.

Addressing PTI Punjab President Shafqat Mohammad, PTI Lahore President Sheikh Imtiaz Mehmood, PTI Punjab Secretary General Zubair Niazi and meeting organizer Ali Warraich, they were requested to refrain from any untoward incident. Take timely steps to avoid it.

Reacting to the letter of Deputy Commissioner Lahore, PTI Information Secretary Hassan Khawar told Dawn News that the party could not be discouraged by such tactics of the government.



He said the government should not be bothered by the PTI campaign.

Hassan Khawar said that the chairman would attend the meeting in PTI Lahore and the party would continue its campaign for public relations.

It should be noted that before the change of government, former Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry had said that the security agencies had reported that plans were being made to assassinate Imran Khan.

He had said that after the reports, according to the government decision, the security of Prime Minister Imran Khan has been tightened.

Prior to Fawad Chaudhry's statement, PTI leader Faisal Wada had also claimed that a conspiracy was being hatched to assassinate Imran Khan for refusing to sell the country.

It may be recalled that former Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced rallies after being ousted from the government and held his first rally in Peshawar on April 13 where a large number of people had gathered.


After Peshawar, PTI held a big rally in Karachi on April 16 and Imran Khan addressed it.

PTI has scheduled the next meeting on April 21 at Minar Pakistan Lahore, where former Prime Minister Imran Khan will address.
