Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr Shirin Mazari has been 'arrested'.
His daughter and well-known lawyer Iman Zainab Mazari Hazir said in a tweet that "male policemen beat my mother and took her away".

On the other hand, PTI leader Shahbaz Gul in a tweet instructed PTI workers to reach Kohsar police station in Islamabad and said that Shirin Mazari was arrested from outside his house.
Talking to media, Iman Zainab Mazari said that a woman was picked up like a thug today and her family was not informed about any such act. Will
"While being arrested, they are told in which case they are being taken away, but my mother has been forcibly disappeared by this government. I don't know where she is," he added.
"I think women are a soft target, so I want to send a clear message to this government that if anything happens to my mother, I will not let her go," she said.
Condemnation of various leaders
PTI Punjab President Shafqat Mahmood condemned the arrest of Shirin Mazari, calling it "illegal and the worst case of kidnapping".
He announced that the party would hold a protest at Liberty Chowk in Lahore at 8 pm.
PTI leader Farrukh Habib also condemned the arrest of Shirin Mazari and said that "male police officers have insulted Shirin Mazari and dragged him away and arrested him".
"Officials visited his house a few days ago. Shirin Mazari is a living voice who presents her position without fear. This government is scared. Such tactics will not dampen our spirits," he said.
