Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the ban on Eid prayer gatherings by Indian authorities in some areas of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the report of Radio Pakistan, while talking on the phone with the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed Pakistan commitment to continue their moral, political and diplomatic support till Kashmiris get their right to self-determination. Repeat.

 

According to the report of Indian online news portal The Print, after the management committee refused to accept the conditions imposed by the administration, the authorities did not allow Eid prayers at the historic Jama Masjid in Nohta area of ​​Srinagar.

The administration had asked the management committee to offer prayers before 7 am and pledge to maintain law and order during and after the congregation.

Meanwhile, according to the Hindustan Times, no prayers were offered at the Eidgah in Srinagar on Tuesday, where thousands of people usually gather for Eid prayers.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif telephoned President Dr Arif Alvi, Chiefs of Services, Chief Ministers of all provinces, leaders of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and senior politicians and wished them a happy Eid.

A day after similar telephone conversations with the leaders of the Muslim world, the Prime Minister discussed the political situation in the country with the local leadership and expressed his best wishes.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office, the Prime Minister contacted Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Naval Chief Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sadhu and congratulated him on Eid-ul-Fitr.

He also spoke to the Chief Ministers of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan and the Acting Governor of Balochistan. However, the Prime Minister could not contact him as the Chief Minister was traveling abroad.

The Prime Minister also telephoned former President Asif Ali Zardari, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Jamaat-e-Islami leader Sirajul Haq and PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who responded with congratulations.

The statement further said that he had met government allies Maulana Asad Mehmood, Mohsin Dawar, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Sardar Akhtar Mengal, Allama Sajid Mir, Khalid Magsi, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Ali Nawaz Shah, Shah Zain Bugti, Aslam Bhootani and Chaudhry Salik Hussain. Also contacted

The Prime Minister sought the well-being of PML-Q leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain from Chaudhry Salik and wished him a speedy recovery.
