Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Maryam Aurangzeb has said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the party delegation of PML-N are going to London on a private visit to meet Nawaz Sharif.

Briefing the media about power load shedding, Federal Minister for Power Division Khurram Dastgir said that there was zero load shedding in the country on May 31, 2018 during the PML-N government.

Explaining this objection, the Federal Minister said that we have informed the Cabinet in this regard that there are 7 different categories in terms of power supply in the country and zero load shedding means that electricity can be anywhere in the initial 3 or 4 categories. The Federal Minister further said that there is electricity in the system as per the requirement of the country but in those areas where electricity bills are not received, load shedding is carried out to meet the deficit of the power division.

He said that the Prime Minister has directed the Ministry to formulate a new power policy to meet the growing demand for electricity in the country and to balance the load shedding in urban and rural areas of the country.

He said that the issues in the power division were very complicated and serious which had to be resolved on a permanent basis through consultation.
