Sri Lanka have appointed former legendary fast bowler Lasith Malinga as their bowling strategy coach ahead of the eight-match series against Australia next week.
According to the AFP news agency, a series of three T20 and five ODI matches will be played between Australia and Sri Lanka and according to Sri Lankan cricket, Malinga's skills and experience will be very important for the team in both the series. ۔
The board said the veteran former bowlers would support the Sri Lankan bowlers and provide them with technical skills so that they could carry out their strategic plans.
He said that Sri Lankan cricket is confident that Malanga with his immense experience and bowling skills in the final overs will help the team in this important series.
Malanga had announced his retirement from ODIs in July 2019 and also from T20s in 2020.
Known for his bowling in limited overs, Malinga took 338 wickets in ODI cricket and 107 wickets in T20 Internationals while he also has the distinction of taking 101 wickets in Test cricket.
The T20 series will start with a match between Sri Lanka and Australia on June 7, while the ODI series will start on June 14.
After the T20 and ODI series, two Test matches will be played between the two teams.
