Saudi authorities have arrested and fined about 300 people trying to perform the Hajj without a permit, and the kingdom is preparing to host one million pilgrims this year.



According to the Dawn news agency, the head of Hajj security, Lt. Gen. Mohammed al-Bassami, told a press conference broadcast on state media that about 288 citizens and residents were against the rules and regulations of Hajj. Arrested for violating

The head of Hajj security added that the authorities have also tightened security around Makkah Mukarramah.

Makkah is the holiest city of Islam where the magnificent Masjid al-Haram is located.

Lt. Gen. Mohammed al-Bassami added that about 100,000 people in more than 6,900 vehicles have been barred from entering the city under security.

One million people have been allowed to perform Hajj this year, including 850,000 pilgrims from abroad, while the last two years have been marked by the outbreak of the corona virus. The number of people coming to India was greatly reduced.

That number is still much lower than the 2.5 million people who performed the Hajj in 2019 before the epidemic, but this number is significantly higher than the 60,000 who came to perform the Hajj last year.

Last year, 60,000 Saudis performed the Hajj who were fully vaccinated.

According to Saudi officials, at least 650,000 pilgrims had arrived from abroad by Sunday.

This year, the Hajj will officially begin on Wednesday, but before that, the children of Islam continued to perform religious rites and other acts of worship on Monday.
