Saudi’s most popular fired chicken chain is opening in yet another emirate, after huge success in Dubai and Ajman.

City Centre Sharjah currently has an Albaik under construction, with signage already posted.

There is no date set for its opening, however. Lovin Dubai reached out to the mall, and was told “There has not been an official announcement from the restaurant, and no opening dates have been decided yet.”

While that statement says there is no official announcement, it does confirm there will be opening dates to decide, so it’s 100% happening.

Stay tuned for opening dates!

The Albaik phenomenon

The fried chicken phenomenon which opened in Dubai last summer to insane crowds and an immediate cult following also opened at launch of the event inside the Saudi Pavilion last fall.

“We are thrilled to have #ALBAIK at #Expo2020” wrote the brand on Instagram this morning. “We are located in the Opportunity District between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia  pavilion and the UAE pavilion and can’t wait to see you and serve you there! #UAE #Dubai #ALBAIKinUAE” they continued at the time.

Al Baik, Saudi Arabia’s beloved fried chicken chain, is also currently opened in The Dubai Mall in the food court, with huge lines still forming.

The restaurant originally opened with a partial menu of fillet sandwiches, nuggets and shrimp, and slowly added each piece, finally adding Broasted Chicken last month.

The brand opened more than 50 years ago in KSA, and has since developed the kind of cult following that few fast food places get.

More branches are to come across the UAE, so if you’re not close to Dubai Mall, you won’t have to wait too long to grab some of this much clucked-about chicken.

AlBaik was founded in 1974 by Shakour AbuGhazalah and has always maintained its no-frills but high-quality ethos, centered around a famous 18-spice secret recipe.

While AbuGhazalah is no longer with us, his sons have kept it going true to their father’s legacy.

What do you want to try once the full menu is in place? The Chicken Meal in either four or eight pieces is the most definitive, which comes with garlic sauce and a bun, and can come spicy or boneless. The Bik Baik Sandwiches which come with a fried chicken breast, coleslaw, pickle and special sauce are also a renowned favourite.
