Indian cricket team head coach Rahul Dravid took charge of the team in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the Asia Cup campaign after recovering from Covid-19.
According to the foreign news agency "Reuters", the former prominent batsman of the Indian team had tested positive for Corona at the time of departure for the 6-nation T20 tournament in the UAE.
The Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) appointed VVX Laxman as assistant coach in the absence of Rahul Dravid, who was the head of the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

BCCI said in a statement that Rahul Dravid's corona test has come negative and he has joined the Indian cricket team in Dubai while VVX Laxman has returned to Bangalore.
India will play their first match against arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday to defend their Asia Cup title.
Bilateral cricket between the two countries is suspended but these countries play against each other in international tournaments.
The opening match of Asia Cup was played yesterday between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan, a day after that India and Pakistan will face each other in the big match of the tournament.
