Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan to put aside their differences for now and work together to provide relief to countrymen affected by incessant rains and floods.



According to the report of maknews-21, while talking to the international media at the Prime Minister House, the Prime Minister said that he wants to ask Imran Khan to sit with him, go ahead in relief activities and get the country out of this crisis.

Addressing the former prime minister, he said, "Let's try together, move forward with thought and action and united."

This statement on his part has come at a time when the differences between the current government and the former ruling party PTI are on the rise after Imran Khan's alleged threats to the police, judiciary and army and the cases registered against him. have arrived

Shahbaz Sharif further said that he had offered 'Charter of Economy' on several occasions but Imran Khan did not take it seriously.

Import of vegetables from India is unlikely
The Prime Minister also ruled out the possibility of importing vegetables from India to overcome the food shortage caused by the floods.

He said that both sides need to discuss the situation of human rights in Occupied Kashmir.

He further said that he is ready to sit down with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discuss the issue.

However, Shahbaz Sharif said that a committee has been formed to find out the possible way of importing vegetables and other food items.

He further informed that the government is negotiating with Russia to import wheat.

Later, he said in his tweet that 'if today we are affected by this situation, tomorrow someone else may be, the threat of climate change is real and standing in front of us'.

With reference to the IMF program, he said in his tweet that "the recovery of the IMF program is important for the economy, but it is not the destination, it is the stage that will lead the country to the path of economic recovery".

He further said that 'for economic self-reliance, we have to work day and night, Pakistan has to get rid of the clutches of economic chains, the only way is structural reforms'.

Later, the Prime Minister also called the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, and informed him about the latest flood situation.

The Prime Minister appreciated the work being done by the Emirates Red Crescent and the Khalifa Bin Zayed Foundation in the flood-affected areas.

Sheikh Mohammad expressed his solidarity with the people of Pakistan and offered all possible help to the affected people.

Besides, in another message, the Prime Minister also thanked the United Nations for helping Pakistan in this difficult time.
