K-Electric has requested the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to increase the price of electricity by Rs 14 53 paise per unit for the consumers in the context of quarterly fuel adjustment.
K Electric filed two separate applications for price increase and decrease for quarterly and monthly fuel adjustments respectively.
In the application filed by K Electric, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has been asked to increase the price of electricity by Rs 14.53 paise per unit for quarterly fuel adjustment.

This increase has been sought by K Electric in the context of quarterly adjustment for April-June 2022.
In the second petition filed by K Electric, it is requested to reduce the price in the July monthly fuel adjustment.
The company supplying electricity to Karachi has been asked to reduce the price of electricity by 3 rupees 47 paise per unit in the context of monthly fuel adjustment.

K Electric has requested to give relief of 6 billion 25 crore rupees to the citizens in terms of monthly fuel adjustment.
Nepra will hear both the applications of K Electric on August 31.
It may be recalled that yesterday the Electricity Distribution Companies (Discos) also paid Rs. 4 per unit to get an additional Rs. Requested to increase Rs.69 paise.

(Nepra) had also cleared this application for a public hearing scheduled on August 31.
It should be noted that earlier, on August 11 of this month, Nepra had increased the price of electricity by 11 rupees 10 paise for the consumers of Karachi in the context of June's monthly fuel adjustment.
In a historic hike in electricity prices for consumers in Karachi, Nepra issued a notification stating that additional charges will be made in electricity bills in August and September.

The notification said that in August bills, Rs 3.1 paise per unit will be charged, while in September bills, Rs. 8.9 paise per unit will be charged.
Before issuing the additional bill notification for the consumers of Karachi, the federal government had issued a notification to increase the basic electricity tariff by 3 rupees 50 paise per unit.
It should be noted that regarding the increase in electricity prices for June for the consumers of Karachi, Nepra had approved an increase of 11 rupees 37 paise per unit on July 28.
It should be remembered that earlier on July 4, Nepra had also approved to increase the price of electricity for the people of Karachi by 9 rupees 42 paise per unit in the context of the monthly fuel adjustment for May.
