Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that 1 crore 71 lakh electricity consumers and 3 lakh agricultural tubewell consumers have been exempted from Fuel Adjustment Surcharge (FAC).



Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while talking to the media after arriving in Qatar, said that after full consultation with the IMF, 1 crore 71 lakh consumers out of 3 crore consumers of Pakistan will not have to pay additional fuel adjustment surcharge. People sleep comfortably at night.

He further said that as you know that since our government came, we had two goals in mind, one was to save Pakistan from bankruptcy because of the worst performance of the previous government and the worst economic policies. Due to which the country was close to bankruptcy, today this danger has been averted with the efforts, sincerity and hard work of the coalition government.

'Efforts are going on day and night to reduce inflation'

He said that due to the same bad policies of the previous government, the storm of inflation had engulfed Pakistan, the situation is the same in the world today, we are still trying day and night to reduce inflation.

 Although we have not been able to achieve much success in this yet, we are trying to bottle this genie together, I am confident that we will succeed in the times to come.

He said that the purpose of this was to impose a fixed tax of 3,000 to save the businessmen from the tyranny of the Income Tax Department, but here the tide has flowed. has been controlled, traders need not worry at all in this matter.

'We have to consult the IMF for everything'
Shahbaz Sharif said that the second issue is fuel adjustment surcharge (FAC), it means that when you import oil, if that oil is expensive, then the FAC is adjusted in the next month's bills. In the same way, if oil becomes cheap, FAC decreases in the same way. Since the prices of oil in the world markets were skyrocketing, FAC increased significantly in the months of July and August. , which was unbearable for the common man.

He said that out of the three crore consumers of Pakistan, 1 crore 71 lakh consumers will not have to pay additional fuel adjustment surcharge, those people can sleep comfortably at night and the remaining 1 crore 29 lakh consumers, they are big eaters but We are also looking into it thoroughly.

He said that after this facility, 1 crore 71 lakh electricity consumers will not have to pay a single drop in fuel adjustment surcharge, we are going through a very difficult time, Qatar is our second home, we have come there, our We talked here today about the plans for development, investment and trade so that we can make plans for the people of Pakistan and their well-being and work day and night to implement these plans.

He said that Pakistan and Qatar are friendly countries, for many decades we have expanded our relations by mutual trust, respect and support to each other, Qatar is a reliable friend of Pakistan, in recent years when the whole world is facing economic crisis. And faced with inflation, Qatar supported Pakistan beyond our expectations.

He said that there are vast opportunities for trade and investment in both countries, Pakistan has vast opportunities for investment in agriculture, renewable energy, IT and other sectors.

Shahbaz Sharif said that when we assumed power, Pakistan was facing severe economic challenges, the economy is heavily indebted, and is unable to balance its trade. Exports are comparatively low, putting a lot of pressure on our resources.

He said that the only solution is to reduce imports by increasing our production and the way is to make rapid progress on renewable energy and reduce imports of petroleum products, which not only Foreign exchange will be saved but it will also provide cheap energy to industries and agriculture.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan also has great opportunities to generate hydropower, so we especially invite investors from Qatar to invest in hydropower projects, hydropower is also cheap. As a source of electricity, it will immediately yield substantial returns to investors.

He said that it is time that Pakistan and Qatar take not only their relations but also bilateral trade and investment to new heights. I hope that my visit to my second home Qatar will yield good results.

He said that it should be hoped that Qatar and Pakistan together will bring development and prosperity not only to the two countries but also to the region.
