A British-born Belgian teenager has become the youngest person to achieve this honor after traveling solo around the world for 5 months.

The youth faced extreme conditions like monsoon rains and extreme heat during 5 months.

According to the report of Reuters, a foreign news agency published in the Dawn newspaper, 17-year-old Mac Rutherford flew 54 thousand 124 kilometers after departing on March 23 in a Shark Aero microlight aircraft and visited Bulgaria after visiting more than 30 countries. Landed at the airport near the capital Sofia.

He said that during the journey, there were many moments where it was easy to give up, until it felt that the journey would not end, but I did not give up.

During this trip, he also broke two Guinness Book of World Records records, one of which was set by his 19-year-old sister Zara.

"It's a wonderful moment for me to be here again and to fulfill my goal," he said enthusiastically.

He added that the trip took longer than I expected but it was very interesting and I have no regrets after completing it.

Delays in Rutherford's travel permit forced him to reroute to Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, North America, and then Europe.

His favorite flyovers were from the Arabian Desert to Greenland and Iceland, but this trip was a challenge for him as he had to travel continuously for 10 hours from Japan to America in bad weather conditions.

Apart from this, the solar panel system collapsed due to extreme heat in Sudan, water entered the fuel tank due to monsoon rains in India, which damaged their aircraft and some documents.

Rutherford lost the honor of the world's longest solo trip to Travis Ludlow, who held the record last year at the age of 18.

Rutherford has also become the youngest person to fly around the world in a microlight aircraft, a distinction previously held by his sister Zara who completed the journey in January this year.

Currently, he does not intend to set any new records but will go back to school and complete his studies.

Rutherford earned his pilot's license in 2020 while training with his father at the age of 15. He hopes his 5-month journey will inspire young people to pursue their dreams. will
