In Japan, a unique program of recruiting children to work has been launched to provide comfort and happiness to the frail people living in old care homes.
According to the news agency "Agence France Presse" (AFP), the old age home care of Kitakyushu, a city in the southern and third largest prefecture of Kyushu, Japan, advertised for child labor.
Soon after the nursing home advertised, at least 30 parents of children from nearby areas also submitted applications for the job.
The report stated that around 100 infirm persons are living in the Old Age House, who are being looked after by male and female nurses, but to provide them more happiness, the management decided to recruit children.
The Old Age House advertised child labor uniquely and said that children would be free to come and go to work at any time and would be allowed to eat, drink, bathe, sleep and return home at all times.
As per the terms of employment, there will be no restrictions on the children except that they will spend some time with the elderly in the old age home, so that the weak can be happy.
As per the terms of employment, the parents of the children have to sign an agreement with the old age house and the children will be provided with pampers, formula milk and other similar items in exchange for employment. The terms of employment do not specify the duration or time of employment, however, regarding the age of the children, it is stipulated that they should not be very young i.e. one and a half or two years old.
There is also no condition of the gender of children for employment and it is clarified that the purpose of employing children is to provide happiness to the elderly.
It should be noted that in countries like Japan, the number of frail and elderly people is more than the youth and the birth rate of children is also low there.
