A case of arson has been registered against unknown persons by the Islamabad administration.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon said that the tragic incident of fire in Centaurus Mall took place around four o'clock, on the information, the rescue teams started trying to put out the fire in time, along with 14 fire brigade vehicles in extinguishing the fire. Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi and armed forces were called in and the fire was brought under control.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon has directed that all the big buildings of Islamabad should be checked and see if they have fire fighting equipment or not and if not, action will be taken against them.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad further said that as a precautionary measure, Centaurus Mall and its attached residential towers are being sealed till the technical team reports about the capacity of the towers after the fire.
He said that the shopping mall is also completely cordoned off and safe from any incidents like theft etc.
