Australia have announced a strong Test squad for their first tour of Pakistan in 24 years, but many of the top players will be rested for the next three ODIs and one T20I match.
The squad did not include Test captain Pat Cummins, Josh Hazelwood and Mitchell Starc.
The Australian Test squad is scheduled to leave for Pakistan this weekend, with the first of three Tests set to begin on March 4 in Rawalpindi.

Chief selector George Bailey said: "We have chosen a talented and versatile squad to face many challenges.
"We are confident that the squad can compete successfully in this tour and continue its progress towards the upcoming major tournaments," he said.
Some players withdraw from limited overs matches due to IPL
David Warner and Cummins will not be available for Australia in the T20 and ODI series as both players have contracts in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and will join the league along with Maxwell and Hazelwood.
However, Australian chief selector George Bailey confirmed that all these players will be available for their respective franchises in the IPL only after the lone T20 match against Pakistan on April 5.
Maxwell has been given a leave of absence from the tour due to his marriage, while the rest of the players will return home after the Test series.
Players who do not participate in the Tests will be included in the squad for the tour for limited overs matches. The first ODI will also be played on March 29 in Rawalpindi.
