Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that he had received a clear message from the Chinese Foreign Minister that China has been and will continue to be a reliable partner of Pakistan in the past.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi met with Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Huangshan today on the sidelines of the 3rd Summit of Afghanistan's Neighbors in China.

In a video message after the meeting, he said that China has always protected Pakistan's sovereignty and territorial integrity and will continue to do so.

The Foreign Minister said that he had been told by his counterpart that we had requested a rollover (renewal) of loans from China, to which the Chinese leadership had agreed and now various procedural procedures were being completed. It will be announced later.


He said that there was a possibility of global shortage of diesel and the Chinese leadership assured that it would take care of Pakistan's needs and provide full assistance.

 According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, the Foreign Minister had a bilateral meeting with Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Tunsi District, Huangshan, China today. The two Foreign Ministers had earlier met on March 21, 2022 in Islamabad on the sidelines of the 48th meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.

The two Foreign Ministers discussed bilateral strategic, economic and security cooperation, as well as global epidemics, peace and stability in Afghanistan, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.


Referring to China's central position in Pakistan's foreign policy, the Foreign Minister reiterated his commitment to further deepen and strengthen the Pak-China All Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.


The Foreign Minister reiterated Pakistan support for China "One China" policy and China core interests.


Shah Mehmood Qureshi thanked China for its continued support for Pakistan sovereignty, territorial integrity, political stability and socio-economic development.

Referring to the Prime Minister visit to China last month and State Councilor Wang Yi's visit to Islamabad, he welcomed the pace of development of Pak-China relations.

The two Foreign Ministers agreed that C-Pac Phase II is a manifestation of bilateral cooperation, multilateral partnership in areas such as high quality, industrial development, innovation in agriculture and information technology.

The Foreign Minister thanked China for hosting the meeting on Afghanistan.

According to the statement, the Foreign Minister called for the continuation of deep ties between Pakistan, China as well as Afghanistan other neighbors to facilitate regional ties by promoting peace, stability and development in the country and extending C-Pac to Afghanistan. Given
