Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Muftah Ismail has clarified that he had "inadvertently" wiped his nose with the dupatta of his party leader and Punjab Assembly member Sania Ashiq.

Two days ago, a short video went viral on social media, in which Muftah Ismail could be seen wiping his nose and mouth with the handkerchief of fellow leader Sania Ashiq.

 

In the video, the two leaders were standing behind PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz, who had spoken to reporters in Lahore a few days earlier.

 

 During Maryam Nawaz conversation, Muftah Ismail and Sania Ashiq were standing close to each other and back and forth, during which Muftah Ismail inadvertently wiped his nose with the handkerchief of the female MPA.

In the viral video, it can be seen that Muftah Ismail, standing in front of him, grabs the corner of Sania Ashiq's dupatta and wipes his nose and mouth with it.

 

 After this was done in the video, another person standing near Muftah Ismail was seen saying something in his ear.

After the video went viral, Muftah Ismail was severely criticized and advised to keep a tissue with him

At the same time, some people termed the said action of Muftah Ismail as 'harassment', while some people also termed his action as immoral.

On the other hand, some people wrote that Muftah Ismail was taking the issue of Sania Ashiq nose-wiping as a joke, but in fact it is a sensitive and intolerable issue. Didn't react strongly.

After being criticized by the people, Muftah Ismail tweeted an explanation and admitted his mistake.

Muftah Ismail wrote in his tweet that during the press conference, he "inadvertently" grabbed his sister Sania Ashiq dupatta, however, realizing the "mistake", he removed the dupatta from his hand.

He wrote that for the first time he felt like he was wiping his face and nose with his tissue, however, when he realized the mistake, he also apologized to Sania Ashiq.
