On the 82nd anniversary of the introduction of the Pakistan Resolution, 'Pakistan Day' is being celebrated with full vigor across the country with a determination to ensure development, prosperity and strong defense of the country.

This day is commemorated on March 23, 1940, in commemoration of the historic resolution of Lahore, under which the Muslims of the subcontinent set their own agenda for a separate homeland.

According to the report of Radio Pakistan, the day started with 31 salutes in the federal capital Islamabad and 21 salutes in the provincial capitals.

After Fajr prayers in mosques, special prayers were offered for the progress and prosperity of the country.

 A guard change ceremony was held at Mazar-e-Iqbal in Lahore with Air Vice Marshal Zubair Hassan Khan as the chief guest.
Pakistan Day Parade


The highlight of the day is the spectacular military parade in Islamabad in which troops of the three armed forces and other security forces march past while fighter jets perform aerial exercises. The theme of this year Pakistan Day is 'Happy Pakistan'.


The special parade of Pakistan Day was attended by President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, Federal Ministers and Chiefs of the three Armed Forces as well as Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The arrival of President Dr. Arif Alvi was announced with a special trumpet blast after which he came to the parade ground in a traditional chariot.


On the occasion of the special parade of the renewal of the covenant day, the troops of the three armed forces conducted a special parade and greeted the special guests.


The ceremony began with the recitation of the national anthem followed by the recitation of the Holy Quran, after which President Arif Ali inspected the parade.

 Apart from them, Pakistanis who have shown outstanding performance in their respective fields and made the country famous through their works were also specially invited to the event.


Expert pilots of Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy performed flypast on various aircrafts of the Armed Forces including Chinese made J10C, JF17 Thunders, F16 and Mirage aircraft and saluted the President of Pakistan.


After the President address, troops from various battalions of the Army, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air Force, Rangers, Frontier Corps, Police and other security agencies marched in front of the salute platform. Guards, Balochistan Levies troops participated for the first time.

 In addition, a special contingent of ladies officers representing women from the Armed Forces, Police, Rangers and other security agencies also passed in front of the salute platform.


Troops from Bahrain National Guard, Azerbaijan Armed Forces, Turkish Armed Forces and Royal Saudi Army also marched in the special parade. For the first time, a contingent of Uzbek Armed Forces participated in this parade.


29 cadets from Saudi Arabia are undergoing training at Pakistan Military Academy Kakul.

The parade also showcased state-of-the-art military equipment, including tanks, powerful guns, rocket systems, air defense systems, armored vehicles, communications equipment, state-of-the-art electronic equipment, radar systems and missiles.


After that the paratroopers of Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Army landed in front of the salute platform demonstrating the skill of free fall jump from a height of 10,000 feet.


After that, the special guest of the ceremony, President Arif Ali, was presented the green crescent flag of Pakistan, after which the President shook hands with the skydiving pilots.

 The march of different floats reflecting different aspects of culture of the four provinces also became part of the parade and for the first time Kashmir was also represented in the parade, along with a special OIC float.


On the float of Kashmir, the image of Hazrat Balh Dargah, Mangala Dam, beautiful mountain scenery of Neelum Valley, Syed Ali Gilani and Shaheed Burhan Wani was prominent.


Distinguished guests attending the 48th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers also witnessed the Pakistan Day Parade as special guests.

Addressing the parade, the President of Pakistan said that we must remember that the goal of Pakistan was to establish a welfare state that would serve as a model of a moderate and tolerant society based on Islamic principles, where Muslims as well as minorities Protection of life and property and complete religious freedom.


The President said that we want the OIC to be made more stable and effective. At present, the Islamic world is facing trials. The people of Palestine and Indian-occupied Kashmir are being oppressed.

The President said that the main cause of instability in South Asia was the expansionist ambitions of the neighboring country and its illegal occupation of Kashmir.

 

Message from the President and Prime Minister

Earlier, President Dr Arif Ali and Prime Minister Imran Khan in their separate messages on the occasion of Pakistan Day said that the day is not far when Pakistan will become an economically strong and prosperous country.


According to a report by Radio Pakistan, in his message, the President said that the demand for a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent has proved to be politically correct over time.
