According to a foreign news agency, according to the Election Commission website, Charanjit Singh Chani was defeated by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) political rival Labh Singh Ovek by a margin of 37,558 votes from Bhadur seat.

He claimed that Charanjit Singh was not aware of the problems of the people of Chini Bhador while he knew that "there are 74 villages in my constituency and I know the problems of each of them."

Criticizing the Chief Minister for "doing nothing" and making mere announcements during his 111-day tenure, he claimed that like Chamkor, Charanjit Singh would be defeated by Chini Bhador.

Labh Singh Ovech had assured in February that after March 10, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Cheney would go around looking for the person who had advised him to contest from Bhadur seat.

According to the Election Commission of India, the Aam Aadmi Party has won 79 seats and is leading in 13 of the 117 seats in the Punjab Assembly.

The victory of the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab will be its first victory in the state and will be much better than its performance in the 2017 elections when it came second in the state after the Congress.
