ISLAMABAD: President of Uzbekistan Shaukat Mirzaev arrived in Pakistan on a two-day visit and was received by Prime Minister Imran Khan himself.

Prime Minister Imran Khan received the Uzbek President at the airport. Federal Minister for Science and Technology Senator Shibli Faraz and other senior officials were also present on the occasion. A guard of honor was also presented to the guest president.

The children presented bouquets to the distinguished guest and were greeted with cannons. During his visit to Pakistan, the President of Uzbekistan will have meetings with President Dr. Arif Ali and Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Later, a dignified ceremony was held at the Prime Minister's House in honor of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirzayev. Prime Minister Imran Khan received the distinguished guest on his arrival at the Prime Minister's House. The national anthems of both the countries were played on this occasion.
A guard of honor was presented in honor of the Uzbek president, while the Uzbek president inspected the guard of honor.
Later, Prime Minister Imran Khan introduced the members of the Federal Cabinet to the distinguished guest, while Uzbek President Shavkat Mirzayev introduced the accompanying delegation to the Prime Minister.
The Uzbek president also planted a tree at the Prime Minister's House. The two countries are also expected to sign 10 memoranda of understanding.
The two-day visit of the Uzbek President to Pakistan is of utmost importance. Pakistan wants to expand its relations with the Central Asian states and the recent visit of Shaukat Mirzaev is a link in this chain.
