The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued notices to the dissident members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Assembly for April 28 as per the list sent by the Speaker of the National and Provincial Assemblies under Article 63A.

According to a statement issued by the Election Commission, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja where ECP Election Secretary and other senior officers participated.

The statement said that the meeting considered a letter written by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to the Election Commission in which he had said that the party had nominated General, Women and Special All members of the minority elected to the seats have resigned.
The ECP said that now there is no representation of PTI in the National Assembly, the case against the defectors has been sent to the ECP under Article 63A and thus all the priority lists submitted by the PTI to the ECP. Yes, they are also taken back.
In this regard, the Election Commission stated that according to the law, the Election Commission has not received any notification of resignation of any member from the Speaker of the National Assembly and as soon as the case of resignations will be received by the Speaker from the Speaker. Action will be taken.

The statement said that the Election Commission has directed all the members of the National and Provincial Assemblies against whom the declaration has been received from the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly under Article 63 (a) 3 to all the members of the National Assembly for April 28. Notices have been issued.
The ECP said that similarly, notices have been issued to the members of the Provincial Assembly for May 6 so that these cases can be heard.
The Election Commission has also issued notice to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in this regard.
It may be recalled that PTI had earlier this month filed a petition in the Election Commission of Pakistan regarding deviant members.
The petition contended that more than 20 PTI MP had defected, the allies had left the government because of the defectors, and the petition pleaded that leaving the government would cause irreparable damage, Election Commission said. Prevent these deviant members from casting their votes.
Earlier, on March 8, even before the no-confidence motion was moved by the opposition, there was a case of some PTI members going to the opposition camp and deviant members were found in the Sindh House. Claims surfaced.

In case of deviating from the party policy, pressure was exerted on the disenfranchised members by seeking lifelong disqualification and for this purpose a reference was filed in the Supreme Court for interpretation of Article 63A of the Constitution which is still pending in the court.
