Earlier, PTI leader Shirin Mazari said in a statement on social networking site Twitter that "first the roads leading to Minar Pakistan were closed and now the internet service is being shut down".
"The imported government and the frightened crime minister (Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif) think they can stop the nation from standing up to the imported government criminal mafia," he said.
Addressing the gathering, PTI Senator Faisal Javed Khan said that there were reports that roads were being closed to prevent people from attending the rally and demanded from the administration to open the roads and not to put obstacles in front of the people. ۔
"Don't stop the people, otherwise the people will come here themselves and remove all the obstacles, so remove all the obstacles," he said.
On the other hand, there are problems in the internet service around the meeting where Imran Khan will address at 10 o'clock.
Earlier, PTI leaders had started preparations for the rally in the morning and were taking people from different parts of the city to the rally hall in the form of rallies.
Former Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid while talking to Dawn said that the slogan of PTI and the purpose of the historic meeting was not to allow interference of external forces in Pakistan.
He had said that a big stage has been prepared in Minar Pakistan and Imran Khan would deliver a historic address to the gathering.
PTI Punjab Information Secretary Musarat Cheema said that the stage has been prepared where a separate place has been made for men and women.
It may be recalled that the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore had said in a letter yesterday that in view of the serious threats received by the security agencies and a recent review of intelligence conducted at the district and provincial levels, it was suggested that the former Prime Minister Imran Khan should address through virtual and LED for video conferencing instead of being present in Greater Iqbal Park Lahore on April 21, 2022.
