The Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif arrived in Saudi Arabia on a three-day visit at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, his first foreign trip as Prime Minister.

Medina Governor Faisal bin Salman Al Saud and senior Saudi officials received Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his delegation.

 

The delegation includes Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Finance Minister Muftah Ismail, Counter Narcotics Minister Shahzain Bugti, Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb and Defense Minister Khawaja Asif.

Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Member National Assembly Mohsin Dawar and Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui have also accompanied the Prime Minister on an official visit.


Before leaving, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said in a message on the social networking site Twitter that he was going to Saudi Arabia to renew and rekindle brotherhood and friendship.


Describing the Saudi Crown Prince as Pakistan's best friend, the Prime Minister said, "I will hold multilateral talks with the Saudi leadership."


Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said that the three-day visit of the Prime Minister will take place from April 28 to 30, which is her first foreign visit since assuming the office of Prime Minister.


A statement from the Foreign Office stated that the Prime Minister was accompanied by a high-level delegation, which included some key members of the federal cabinet.


The statement further said that during the visit, the Prime Minister met with the Saudi leadership to discuss the development of economic, trade and investment relations as well as to create maximum employment opportunities for Pakistani manpower in Saudi Arabia. Will talk


The Foreign Office added that the two countries would discuss issues of mutual interest on regional and international issues.

The Prime Minister thanked the Saudi Crown Prince for his assistance to Pakistan, calling it a "historic" act.


The Prime Minister will also perform Umrah with his family, for which he is being severely criticized by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).


However, the Information Minister clarified that the Prime Minister is going to Saudi Arabia on a commercial flight and his family will bear the expenses themselves.
