Areej Chaudhry, who was selected 'Miss Pakistan World' in the infamous Pakistani beauty pageant held without the help of government and any organization, says that there are misconceptions about beauty pageant in the country whereas such pageants are only beauty pageants. Speaking to Dawn Images, Arij Chaudhry dismissed the notion that beauty pageants are only for women to see their size and beauty.

According to him, in such competitions, a woman is selected not only for her beauty but also for her mentality, thinking, personality building and many other things.

 

Miss Pakistan World called all the ideas and concepts found in Pakistani society about 'beauty pageant' as untrue and out of date.

Arij Chaudhry said that such platforms provide an opportunity for women to become stronger so that they can advance their voice and projects.

He said that the whole personality of women is seen during beauty pageants and women get stronger by participating in such pageants.

During the interview, he also complained that he participated in the competition without government support, while he lamented the lack of support from any non-profit organization. 

Arij Chaudhry said that in general, the governments of other countries also do not support beauty pageants, however in some countries, including the governments of India, Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam, such competitions are encouraged.

According to him, beauty pageants help in creating a soft image of the country in the world and it also promotes tourism in the country.

Arij Chaudhry said that Pakistan has all kinds of everlasting beauty which needs to be shown to the world and people are wrong to think that women are judged on the basis of beauty and size in beauty pageants.

In response to a question, he claimed that he did not face any adverse conditions while participating in the beauty pageant, he was given full protection and autonomy, he was also provided the best facilities and security.

It may be recalled that Areej Chaudhry had recently participated in the Miss Echo International pageant in Egypt, a Middle Eastern country. Selected.

Areej Fatima was selected as Miss Pakistan World 2021 by Miss Canada, a Canadian beauty pageant.

The organization also hosts competitions for titles such as Miss Pakistan Universe, Miss Pakistan Global, Miss Pakistan and Miss Trans Pakistan.

Competitions of the said organization have no importance in the government or private level in the country, Pakistani showbiz industry personalities have never come out openly in support of such competitions.
