Ben Stokes, who is planning to revive England cricket after being named the new Test captain, has said he wants to lead a team that has "selfless" cricketers to serve.
The 30-year-old star all-rounder was appointed to the role last week after Joe Root resigned after leading England in a record 64 Test matches during his five-year tenure as captain, according to foreign news agency AFP. He had won just one of his last 17 Test matches.
This included a 0-4 Ashes defeat in Australia and a 0-1 series defeat in the West Indies, after which his role as captain was weakened.
