Local clerics in North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province declared Eid-ul-Fitr on Sunday.

Mufti Sher Akbar of Jamia Masjid, the local faqiran of Mirali, announced the sighting of Shawwal moon.
He said that Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated on Sunday, May 1.

According to reports, nine people testified before the scholars that the moon appeared, after which Eid was announced on Sunday.
It should be noted that Shawwal moon has not been seen in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, after which Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated there on Monday, May 2, while the Taliban government in Afghanistan has announced Eid on Sunday.
