LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz visited Kot Lakhpat Jail, reviewed the arrangements and announced a 60-day pardon for prisoners and increase in salaries of soldiers.
Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz on the occasion of his visit to Central Jail Kot Lakhpat inaugurated the Center for Teaching Quran and Hadith in Security Ward Two. Hamza Shahbaz spent 22 months in this ward.
During his visit, Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz announced a 60-day pardon in prison sentences and an increase in the salaries of prison soldiers, saying that the prison soldiers would receive a salary equal to that of the police.
The Chief Minister distributed Eid gifts among the inmates, also planted a tree in the lawn of the jail while a guard of honor was presented to Hamza Shahbaz. The Chief Minister inspected the guard of honor.
Members of Punjab Assembly Abdul Aleem Khan, Khawaja Imran Nazir, Khawaja Salman Rafique, Hafiz Muhammad Noman, Additional Chief Secretary Home, Inspector General of Prisons, Commissioner Lahore, Deputy Commissioner Lahore and other officials were also present on the occasion.

Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz has ordered to activate law and order committees at district level. Hamza Shahbaz says that there will be no compromise on the arrangements made for protection of life and property of the people. He also directed action without any discrimination.
A high level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz. During the meeting, law and order situation in the province, security arrangements for foreigners especially Chinese residents were reviewed. Arrangements made were also considered.
Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz directed to ensure foolproof security for moon night and Eid gatherings. Hamza Shahbaz said that public representatives should also play their full role for the betterment of public order in their districts. No effort should be spared for the protection of life and property of the people of the province.
The Chief Minister directed for effective measures to prevent one wheeling and said that non-discriminatory action should be taken against those who do one wheeling on Eid. The Inspector General of Police and concerned officials briefed about the arrangements made for the protection of life and property of the people in the province.
The meeting was attended by Senator Rana Maqbool Ahmed, MPA Owais Leghari, Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan, Jahangir Khanzada, Zeeshan Rafique, Ata Tarar, Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, Additional Chief Secretary Home, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and concerned officials. , All commissioners and RPO attended the meeting via video link.
