Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that all decisions related to terrorism, including the ongoing talks with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), should be taken through Parliament.
Federal Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto has said on several occasions that he was personally affected by terrorism, adding that his party would approach the coalition parties for a consensus on the way forward.
In a tweet, he said the PPP had convened a high-level meeting on terrorism issues, especially the current situation in Afghanistan, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan (TTA) and the TTP.
He said that the PPP believes that all decisions should be taken by the parliament.
The meeting was chaired by former president Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto. Qamar Zaman Kaira, Chaudhry Yaseen, Chaudhry Manzoor, Nadeem Afzal Chan, Akhunzada Chitan, Rukhsana Bangash, Nisar Khorro and Farhatullah Babar participated.

Akhunzada Chitan was part of a delegation of Pakistani tribesmen who went to Kabul for talks earlier this month.
In a statement issued after the meeting, the PPP said that all decisions should be taken by Parliament, therefore Parliament must be included in all decisions.
The Taliban's interim government in Afghanistan is facilitating peace talks with TTP leaders in Kabul, Islamabad.
Last month, the government and the TTP agreed on an indefinite ceasefire and are in talks to end two decades of militancy in the tribal border area.

A 50-member tribal jirga also took part in the talks. Pakistani officials in Kabul told Dawn.com that progress in the talks had reached a critical stage.
At the time, the Dawn editorial said that accepting the TTP's demands would be tantamount to surrendering state power to various parts of the tribal belt where militants were active.
It added that militant groups should not be allowed to dictate to the state where security forces can and cannot go.

Furthermore, the integration of FATA into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2018 is part of the constitutional process and cannot be withdrawn as per the wishes of the TTP.
