Fishermen have been warned to be cautious due to floods in the sea from July 3 to 5.
The meteorological department said there was a strong possibility of strong dust storms and gusts before the rains.
Earlier on June 27, the Meteorological Department had said that rains are likely in Karachi on the evening or night of July 2, due to the monsoon winds entering Pakistan from the Bay of Bengal from June 30.
The meteorological department had said that the monsoon system could affect most parts of the country, causing rains in Tharparkar, Umerkot and other areas in Sindh from the night of July 1.
It was further reported that intermittent rains are expected for 3 to 4 days and in some areas for 5 days, according to a recent meteorological survey, the system could lead to heavy rains.
It may be recalled that last week on June 23 in Karachi, the first rain of the summer with wind and thunder broke the heat wave in the city while two children were killed and three others were injured when a wall collapsed due to rain.
After a day of intense heat in Karachi, a series of torrential rains started in the northern part of the city with strong winds which spread to the entire city while several power feeders in different areas were tripped.
Areas of the city that received rain after the storm include Bahria Town, Super Highway, Gadap, Malir, Airport, Shahra-e-Faisal, Nursery, Korangi and Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
