Hollywood director James Cameron has been working on the Avatar series for years, the second part of which will be released in December 2022.
The movie Avatar was released in 2009 and 13 years later, the second part of this James Cameron movie Avatar 2: The Way of Water is being released.
James Cameron also talks about the rest of the series in an interview.
The most interesting detail of this interview is that James Cameron will probably not direct the fourth and fifth episodes.
The Hollywood director said that Avatar movies need to give up all engagements but they also want to make some other things that are great.
"I don't know if I will direct more avatars after the third or fourth part. I will hand over the job to a director I can trust so that I can do other things, maybe not," he said. "I don't know yet."
It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
Interestingly, James Cameron may not be directing the fourth part, but he is most passionate about that part.
"The fourth part of Avatar will be shocking and I hope to have a chance to make it," he said in an interview.
According to the current schedule, Avatar 3 is to be released in 2024, Avatar 4 on 2026 and Avatar 5 on 2028.
James Cameron said that the duration of Avatar 2 will be 3 hours.
Remember that the first teaser trailer for Avatar 2 was released in May 2022.
Most of the shooting of Avatar 2 is under water.
Avatar 2 will be released worldwide on December 16, 2022, featuring Sam Worthington, Zoe Sildana, Giovanni Rebes and Segorn Weaver, as well as several new actors, including Kate Winslet.
