Islamabad Police have registered a case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and other party leaders for violating Article 144 by holding a protest rally against the arrest of Shehbaz Gill in the federal capital on August 20.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed on August 22 at Abpara Police Station, former Prime Minister Imran Khan and other leaders have been booked under Sections 109, 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (disobedience to an order issued by a public servant). , 186 (obstructing the discharge of public affairs by public servants), 341 and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) have been registered.

The complaint filed by Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Muhammad Anwar also includes Section 2 (prohibition of use of loudspeakers) of the Control of Loudspeakers and Sound Amplifiers Act, 1965.
The main leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf including Murad Saeed, Faisal Javed Khan, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Asad Umar, Raja Khurram Nawaz, Ali Nawaz Awan, Faisal Wada, Shahzad Wasim, Sadaqat Ali Abbasi, Shibli Faraz, Fawad Chaudhry, Saifullah Khan are in the case. Niazi, Shehryar Afridi, Fayyazul Hasan Chauhan and Firdous Ashiq Awan have been nominated, along with other PTI leaders Shamim Naqvi, Asad Qaiser, Zaheer Abbas Khokhar and Major Ghulam Sarwar.
According to the petitioner, on the orders of Imran Khan, about 1,000 to 1,200 workers and supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf gathered near Zero Point Interchange in Islamabad with flags in their hands.
ASI complained that Tehreek-e-Insaaf workers were raising slogans for the release of Shahbaz Gill and threatened and intimidated citizens by blocking roads.

He said commuters were stopped from passing through the area, affecting their daily activities while rally participants used loudspeakers to shout anti-government slogans.
The FIR further states that during the rally, the Islamabad police made announcements through loudspeakers that Section 144 was in force in the city and that rallies were banned.
However, the rally continued and the PTI leaders ignored the police and led their supporters towards F-9 Park, shouting slogans on all the loudspeakers.
It should be noted that last week, Imran Khan requested the public to come to the streets against the arrest of Shahbaz Gul and the cancellation of the license of ARY News.
Immediately after Imran Khan's announcement, the police imposed Section 144 of the Penal Code.
However, despite the restrictions, a large number of PTI workers gathered to participate in the rally under the leadership of the PTI chief.

The rally started from Zero Point and reached F Nine Park where Imran Khan addressed his supporters.
Another FIR registered against Shahbaz Gul
On the other hand, another complaint has been registered against Shahbaz Gul today in the Secretariat Police Station, in which he has been accused of possessing weapons without a license.
The PTI leader was remanded to police custody for two days on August 22. Late on August 22, the police raided Shahbaz Gul's residence in Parliament Lodges in his presence and seized some of his belongings. .
Items seized from his residence reportedly included a pistol, a satellite phone, wallets, ATM cards and other documents.

Shahbaz Gill, who was handcuffed, while talking to the media during the raid, claimed that the weapon found by the police was not his but could have belonged to his security guard or someone had kept it there deliberately.
Section 13 of Arms Ordinance 1965 (punishment for selling, or possessing, offering or offering for sale or displaying any kind of arms, ammunition or military stores) by FIRASI Muhammad Yunus and 20 (power of confiscation) has been entered.
The FIR states that a 9 mm pistol was found in Shahbaz Gul's bedroom, which had 'Made in Russia 13 Viking' written on it, while on loading the weapon, the police found that it had 15 bullets loaded. .

The FIR further stated that the accused failed to produce any license or permit for the pistol hence a case should be registered against him.
It may be recalled that Shahbaz Gill was arrested on August 9 after an FIR was registered against him for inciting mutiny in the armed forces.
