A helicopter of the Pakistan Army engaged in relief operations in rain-affected areas in Balochistan's Lasbela area went missing, with 6 people on board, including the corps commander.



 According to the statement issued by the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), the helicopter of the Pakistan Army Aviation has lost contact during the flood relief operations in Lasbela area of ​​Balochistan.

 The statement said that 6 people including the commander of the 12th corps were on board the helicopter.


According to ISPR, the Corps Commander was supervising the relief work in flood-affected areas in Balochistan.

 The statement said that the search operation is ongoing.

 Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in a statement on Twitter expressed concern over the disappearance of the Pakistan Army helicopter.

 He said that the disappearance of Army Aviation helicopter from Balochistan is worrying.

 The Prime Minister said that the entire nation is praying to Allah Almighty for the safety, security and safe return of these sons of the country who came out to help the flood victims.

It should be noted that in Balochistan in recent days, after heavy rains, there has been severe destruction due to floods, where the number of dead people has exceeded 130.

 Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also visited different districts to review the relief operations in the flood-affected areas of Balochistan.

 Nine more people have died in rain-related accidents in Balochistan during the last 24 hours.

 According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the number of people who have died in rain-related accidents since June 1 has reached 136.

 Devastation of rains and floods in Balochistan

 According to PDMA, 136 people have lost their lives in rain-related accidents in Balochistan since June 1, while 70 people have also been injured.

 PDMA says that apart from loss of life, many roads and bridges have been affected by floods due to rains in the province, the bridge connecting Lasbela and Sindh, which broke down 7 days ago, has not been repaired yet.  Can be done.

 PDMA said that the roads connecting Quetta to Ziarat, Chaman and Sibi have also been affected by the rains.

 It has been said that 13 thousand 535 houses have been damaged by rains in the province since June 1, out of which 10 thousand 129 have been partially destroyed and 3 thousand 406 have been completely destroyed.

 The authority said that relief activities are ongoing in the province.

 PDMA is also conducting relief operations in the affected districts, relief supplies have been delivered to Qila Saifullah, Nushki, Jhal Magsi, Kalat, Khuzdar, Naseerabad, Jafarabad and Washik.
