The Lahore High Court dismissed the petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for the disqualification of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan.



earlier, Justice Shahid Waheed asked the lawyer of the petitioner under which law the defendant can be disqualified. Rejecting, he reminded him that he had filed the petition during the summer vacation and was now seeking time for arguments.

On this, the lawyer asked for permission to withdraw the application, which the judge allowed and the application was withdrawn and dismissed.


The petition was jointly filed by former PTI Member of National Assembly Andalib Abbas and Advocate Hasan Khan Niazi, in which it was pleaded that the Prime Minister misused his powers and accused his son Sulaiman and nephew Hussain Nawaz, both accused. are, violated the constitution by allowing him to meet with the Saudi Crown Prince during an official visit.

The petitioners said that the prime minister took his cabinet members to London to meet former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and former finance minister Ishaq Dar, both of whom are convicted criminals in the country's courts. He said that the Prime Minister and his cabinet members violated the Official Secrets Act, 1923.

They requested the court to disqualify the respondents and order the police to initiate criminal proceedings against the prime minister and his cabinet members.
