After continuous rains in Sindh province, more than 1.3 lakh people were affected by floods, while around 5 lakh were displaced.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), more than 13 lakh 56 thousand people were affected by the rains across the province till August 20, while more than 4 lakh 95 thousand were completely displaced.

According to PDMA, more than 37,000 houses were affected across the province by the recent rains till August 20 and 216 people died and more than 700 were injured due to various accidents due to rains.
Apart from Karachi division, the whole Sindh from 17th to 20th August, due to continuous rains, flood situation has occurred in the province and people have started migrating from many areas.
Several heartbreaking videos of the ravages of rains and people trapped in floods have gone viral on social media, in which the cries of starving children and women for several hours have touched the hearts of people.
The recent rains have wreaked havoc in Larkana and Sukkur divisions, while several districts of Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas divisions have also been badly affected, with people stuck in water for three days and rescue teams unable to reach there.
In the videos and pictures of the flood-affected areas across Sindh, people can be seen with 6 to 8 feet of standing water around them, while women from many areas sobbed in front of the media and complained of being hungry for hours along with their children.
Three days of continuous rains have affected an average of 15 to 100 houses in almost every village and every city, leaving millions without access to food.
The supply of electricity and gas is also disconnected in the flood-affected areas, while there has also been a severe shortage of food items due to the disconnection of the ground connection of some areas.
In several videos that have gone viral on social media, mothers can be seen crying because of their children's hunger pangs, who are heard saying that their young children have been hungry for two days.
On the other hand, the Chief Minister of Sindh started his visit from Karachi on August 20 to assess the flood and reached Sukkur by land on August 22, where the victims surrounded him and appealed to him for help. Murad Ali Shah also assured assistance to all the people.
