Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has left for a two-day official visit to Qatar at the invitation of Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's first visit to Qatar after assuming the post of Prime Minister in April this year will include a high-level delegation including important members of the cabinet.
The Foreign Office said in a statement that the Prime Minister will review all aspects of bilateral relations in the meeting with Qatari leaders.

These meetings will focus on advancing energy-related cooperation, deepening trade and investment ties, and exploring greater employment opportunities for Pakistanis in Qatar.

The Foreign Office said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's visit to Qatar will further deepen the cooperation between the two countries in various fields and strengthen the growing economic partnership.

Before Shehbaz Sharif's visit, according to a Bloomberg report, Qatar has agreed to provide $2 billion in bilateral aid to Pakistan to save it from default.
This is part of the $4 billion that the government of Pakistan expects to receive from its Arab friends, with the remaining $2 billion likely to be provided by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
It is not yet clear whether the Qatari government will officially announce this financial support during the Prime Minister's visit or it will be announced later.
Approval to provide Pakistan Army troops for the security of the Football World Cup
Meanwhile, the Federal Cabinet has approved an agreement between the Government of Qatar and the Pakistan Army for the security of World Cup matches and participants, according to which the Pakistan Army will provide security for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in November and December. .
In this regard, Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb told the news agency Reuters that a summary of the agreement reached between Doha and Islamabad has been approved by the cabinet before the Prime Minister's visit to Qatar.
Currently, it is not clear when the agreement will be signed between the two countries.
During his visit to Qatar, the Prime Minister will also visit Stadium 974 in Doha where he will be briefed on the extensive preparations made by the Qatari government to host the FIFA World Cup.

According to the cabinet summary, the government of Qatar had requested security assistance for the World Cup between November 21 and December 18, 2022, and the Pakistan Army had proposed signing an agreement between the two countries in this regard.
The agreement aims to define the responsibilities of both parties and the number of security personnel to be deployed by Pakistan to participate in security and safety operations, the summary said.
Qatar's official media office did not immediately confirm or comment on why Doha made the request to Pakistani troops and what duties they would perform during the tournament.
In the said summary also no details of the agreement were provided in this regard.
