The returning officer of National Assembly Constituency NA-108 Faisalabad rejected the nomination papers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan for the by-election while expressing dissatisfaction with the details of assets.
Faisalabad Constituency Returning Officer Irfan Kausar has released a list of 12 candidates participating in the by-election in NA-108, in which Imran Khan's name is not included.

Imran Khan's nomination papers have been rejected due to non-disclosure of assets and liabilities.
Huda Ali Gohar, Spokesperson of Provincial Election Commissioner Punjab, said in an explanatory statement that Imran Khan's nomination papers were not rejected due to the issue of signature verification, but because the details of the assets were not satisfactory.
Nomination papers accepted from 8 constituencies
PTI leader Farrukh Habib said in a statement on social media website Twitter that identical nomination papers of Imran Khan were submitted from 9 constituencies and nomination papers were approved from 8 constituencies.
He said that the Election Commission of Faisalabad Returning Officer has rejected the nomination papers without justification but will challenge it immediately and Imran Khan's papers will be restored and he will contest the election from NA-108.
The Election Commission has declared National Assembly constituencies NA-22 Mardan 3, NA-24 Charsadda 2, NA-31 Peshawar 5, NA-45 Karam 1, NA-108 Faisalabad 8, NA-118 Nankana Sahib 2. The schedule of by-elections in NA-237 Malir 2, NA-239 Korangi Karachi One, NA-246 Karachi South One was released.
The said constituencies of the National Assembly were vacated after the resignation of the elected members of PTI was accepted by the Speaker.
It should be noted that on August 5, PTI announced that former Prime Minister Imran Khan will participate in the by-elections to be held on September 25 in 9 constituencies of the National Assembly from all constituencies.
In the announcement on Twitter, it was said that "Chairman Imran Khan himself will contest the election from all the seats in the by-elections of 9 National Assembly constituencies to be held on September 25".
Earlier, the Election Commission had notified them on the notification issued by the Speaker of the National Assembly after accepting the resignation of 11 members of PTI.
In the notification issued by the Election Commission, it was said that the Election Commission has de-notified the said members of the National Assembly on the notification issued on July 28 regarding the acceptance of the resignation of the Speaker of the National Assembly.
The Election Commission later released the schedule and said that the direct by-elections on 9 vacant seats of the National Assembly will be held on September 25.

The schedule stated that candidates can submit their nomination papers from August 10 to August 13, and the documents will be scrutinized on August 17.
According to the schedule, the list of nominated candidates will be released on August 14 and will be scrutinized on August 17.
The revised list of candidates will be released on August 26, after which candidates can withdraw their nomination papers till August 27.
The Election Commission will release the final list of candidates by August 29 and the election symbols will also be allotted on August 29.
