With the nation renewing its pledge as it celebrates the 75th Independence Day of Motherland Pakistan today, it will work with the spirit of Tehreek-e-Pakistan to make the country a true Islamic welfare state.

The day started with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21 in the provincial capitals, with prayers for the security, development and prosperity of Pakistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, the most important event will be the national flag hoisting ceremony in Islamabad, similar flag hoisting ceremonies will be held at provincial, divisional and district headquarters level across the country.

On the occasion of Independence Day, public and private buildings as well as streets, markets and public places have been lit up with Serbian flags and electric lamps, while national flags, paintings, portraits of the founder of Pakistan, posters and banners are also seen everywhere.
