Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has said that it will take 3 to 6 months to drain water from the flood-affected areas of the province.
Between June 14 and September 9, 1,396 people were killed and 12,728 injured across the country due to the monsoon rains and the resulting floods, while more than 3 crore citizens were displaced.
Sindh is by far the worst affected province during the devastating floods with the highest number of deaths reported and the highest number of civilians injured.

Speaking to the media in Karachi, Sindh Chief Minister informed about the current situation of the province and the damages caused by the devastating floods.

Murad Ali Shah said that around 35 million people have been displaced while millions of acres of fertile land have also been affected by floods.
He further said that the farmers in Sindh have suffered a loss of about 3 billion 50 crore rupees while the livestock sector has suffered a loss of 50 billion rupees.
He said that in some areas there is at least 8 to 10 feet of water, even in the areas where the flood water has receded, there is no situation where people can go back to their homes. are
The Chief Minister said that this year, the province received 10 to 11 times more rain than normal, usually around 4 lakh cusecs of flood in Guddu and Sukkur.

He said that the government is working for the rehabilitation of the people and is working to restore the drainage and irrigation system of the province, we believe that it will take 3 to 6 months for the release of water.
Murad Ali Shah admitted that the province is facing shortage of tents and medicines, he said that I had raised this issue during the meeting with the UN chief.
Dadu's critical situation
Member of Provincial Assembly Pir Mujeebul Haque from Dadu told Dawn.com that 150 villages of Dadu's Pir Shahnawaz and Yar Muhammad Kalhoro Union Councils were flooded.
He further said that the flood water is now moving towards Dadu city.
Dadu Deputy Commissioner Syed Murtaza Ali Shah said that heavy machinery has been called to deal with the crack in the ring road.
Yesterday, about 10 km away from Dadu city, a 500-wide crack in the ring dam on the Pir branch started flowing towards Dadu city, inundating around 300 villages along the way.
The areas of Pir Shahnawaz, Kamal Khan and Yar Mohammad Kalhoro of Dadu taluka were affected by flood water.
Considering this situation, the authorities had transferred the prisoners from Dadu District Jail to other jails yesterday.

Rain forecast
In its latest update, the National Flood Response Coordination Center (NFRCC) has said that there is a possibility of rain and thunderstorm in Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Upper Punjab, Southeast Sindh and Gilgit-Baltistan. .
According to the National Flood Response Coordination Center, the weather is expected to remain hot and humid in other parts of the country, while rains are likely to trigger landslides in Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa hilly areas, Gilgit-Baltistan, Gilat and Murree.
The NFRCC further states that the most affected districts of Sindh due to the worst, catastrophic floods in the country's history include Qamber Shahdadkot, Jacobabad, Larkana, Khairpur, Nowshehro Feroze, Dadu, Thatta and Badin.

The statement said that 22 flights were conducted during the last 24 hours while 70 people stranded in different areas were evacuated and 29.9 tons of relief goods were delivered to the flood victims.
